Becoming A Member

Thank you for your interest in becoming a member of Colchester Beekeepers.

The annual subscription is for the calendar year from 1st January to 31 December. New members joining for example in May, when they obtain their first hive, renew their subscription the following January along with existing members.

The subscription for a single member in 2024 is £36.50 which includes membership of the British Beekeepers Association (BBKA) and Bee Disease Insurance (BDI) for up to three hives. Joint membership subscription (both must reside at the same address) is available at £56.50 and includes BBKA membership for both and BDI for up to 3 hives. Only one copy of BBKA News is available to joint members. The benefits of BBKA membership are listed on their website.

As the beekeeping year finishes in October we do not take any new members from then until the following January.

How to Join:

We try to make it as easy as possible for new members to join us.

• Attend our next meeting, complete a form, and pay your membership fee by cheque on the night
• Download our Membership form, which will open in a new browser window. Please print out the form, complete it, attach a cheque and post to us at the address on the form.
